Camera Angles and Shots Project

In this project we had to recreate the following angles with pictures: Medium shot, close up, extreme close up, high angle, low angle, canted angle, long/wide shot, POV, two shot, and over the shoulder. We got to work in groups of two but we were also allowed to use other people for the pictures. In this blog I am going to go more in depth on some of the shots we did and what I thought about the shots. I liked this assignment because we got to do a hands on activity and see how we are supposed to film these different types of angles.

Some shots we took were the two shot, high angle, and low angle. In the two shot we were not sure of how we were going to do it but since we could use other people for the picture we just took a picture of two other kids talking about the project. For the high angle it was one of the easiest to do because all we had to do was stand on a chair to take the picture and for the person to look up at the camera. The last shot I will talk about is the low shot; this shot was just like the high shot but instead of stand on the chair we just had to squat on the floor. Also with the low shot it was harder to do because when taking the photo we were in between the rows of desks so we did not have much space but in the end we got the picture.

    I felt like all of your shots were very nice and sent a message. I especially liked the low angle shot because it really does give the impression that the subject (you) is stronger and makes the viewer feel inferior.

    All shots are exceptional but your two shot takes the cake with its perfect spacing and visual on both characters.

Preparing to Film

 Now that we have an idea of what we are going to film we are starting to prepare everything we are going to need and talking about what we are going to do. We are all going to be in the film and another one of our friends who is not in our group is going to help with the film too. We have not made any specific jobs for each of us we are just working on it all together and contributing whatever we can. Actors: Isabella G.L., Anneliese G., Anabella G.L. Main Character Analysis

 Our main character is going to be portrayed by Isabella and in the movie her name will be Isabella (Isa). She has dark long hair, she is 5'5, she wears glasses, and she has brown eyes. Her costuming will be pajamas, which are a black long sleeve shirt, grey pajama pants, and slippers, and some props that will be associated with her are backpacks, blankets, and snacks. Her communication style is genuine and straightforward. Her personality is a 14-year-old, smart, funny, friendly, extroverted, and horror movie enthusiast. Her mental/ psychological state is anxious.
