Camera Shot Comments

In the assignment we had to look back at a project we did. We had to look at certain pictures we took for the project and write comments under other people's blogs. We each had to comment on two people's blog posts and the people's blogs that I commented on were Gabriela and Isabella's blog post. We had to comment about the photos they took, how they made me feel, and what I think about them.

In Isabella's post she did 4 different shot angles and some of them were the extreme close up, and the high angle. The extreme close up allowed me to see what the person is going through/ feeling in that shot and focus on what is happening. As it says in the article "Different Camera Angles Create Different Emotions" it says "Close-Ups, which are just focused on a character's face. It helps you feel whatever they are feeling." This is not exactly talking about an extreme close up but it does have a similar purpose which is to see what the character is feeling but the extreme close up goes closer so you can see more details on the characters face and see their emotions and expressions better. The high angle conveyed that the person that we are looking down on is smaller and weak. In the same article it states that "High angle camera views are elevated and can show a unique perspective. It can make you feel like the characters are less significant or that we are just onlookers, not really involved in the emotion of the movie yet." The article goes more into detail about the high angle but this piece explains what it is in general and what it can make the viewer feel like how the picture in the project makes the person seem by the camera angle.

In Gabriela's post she did 3 different shots but one of the shots was the over the shoulder shot. In  this picture the shot showed the relationship between two people because they are laughing and having a good time. In the article it says "..you can feel as though you're experiencing the scene with that person. It can also show you how close the characters are". This piece of the article explains the same thing I was saying earlier, when looking at the picture it allows you to see the relationship between both people and the scene did let me feel as if I was there.
